Education is a key to breaking the cycle of poverty . . .To enable children in poor families in Nicaragua to get a good start on their education, CRF implements short-term programs which assist children through their pre-school years with good nutrition, immunizations, educational foundation, social skills, and Bible training. The children are able to go on to public school (which is tuition-free in Nicaragua) with a good start because of what they have received from the program.All of the CRF sponsored children in Nicaragua are part of this special short-term program. Most of the children are in the program for three years or less. Upon graduation from the pre-school program, the needs of the child will be evaluated by the program supervisor. If deemed extremely needy, the child may remain in the program. Sponsors whose children have graduated have the opportunity to help one or more of the new children in the program.
