• 76% of Haitians live on less than $2 per day
and 56% - four and a half million persons -
live on less than $1 per day. A school in Cap-Haitian is giving hope to 140 children of Haiti. The students receive a meal each day, shoes, clothing, school supplies, Bible study and a government-certified education. Only 10% can pay the tuition of $30 per term. The rest are supported by charitable Christians. With additional support, the school could help more students and hopefully provide for medical needs of the children. The following are two families that need help: Emeline and Kenson are brother and sister who attended school all last year, but their parents separated and their mother went to Dominican Republic. The father is unable to care for the children. Moses Toussaint, director of the school, says the children are intelligent but cannot return to school. Often they spend all day with nothing to eat and the food at the school would be very helpful to them. If CRF helps, it will be a great blessing in their lives. Vaniel
and Daniel are twins who come often to see the other children at
the school. They want to go to school, too, but cannot. One day,
at 4:30
PM,
they were starving
and came to pick up what they could find on the ground like chickens.
Moses gave them some money to buy bread and juice. They would be
so grateful
for the opportunity
to attend school. |
