Giving Hope to Children

Hope. . . nadejde. . .esperanza. . .viltis...

Hope is a sweet word in any language . . .

Hope means the last chapter of the story has not been written. The last batter has not come to the plate. Not all the votes have been counted. The dream is still alive . . .

Thank you for giving hope to CRF children, now numbering more than 3,000. Thank you for wrapping your arms around them and carrying them to the Lord. Their lives can be different, better because you have cared and shown them the love of Christ.

May God continue working in your life to accomplish His purpose.

With all my heart I thank you.
Linda Purdy
Executive Director

Giving Hope to a Sponsored Child . . .

Left: Deborah when she first came to CRF Home for Orphans.

Right: CRF sponsors provided care and education for Deborah who now works as a nurse . . .

Dear Sponsor,

I am happy to inform you that I got a permanent job in a private hospital. I assist the doctors while they operate. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping take care of me and educating me.
Because of your love and kindness, I am surviving. I thank the Lord for you. I pray God to help the other orphan children as He helped me. I attend the church at the Home every Sunday. I cried a lot when my name was removed from the CRF Home register. Our home mother said my name has been removed from the rolls but not from the heart and I can visit whenever I want. I love you very much. I remember you every day in my prayers. I will never forget your help in my life. I hope you like my greeting card I will send you. Once again, I thank you very much for bringing me up in a Christian way.

With love,
Deborah.

Right: CRF in action: Imogene McAnulty, missionary, CRF board member and volunteer, is pictured above with a Romanian orphan. Imogene oversees CRF projects in Romania, providing food and medical supplies for hospitals, orphanages and needy families. As a result of relief work, orphanages allow church members to teach Bible to the children.

Statement of Purpose
The Christian Relief Fund is dedicated to following Christ's example of ministering to human need physically, emotionally . . . and spiritually, by feeding the hungry, healing disease and heartbreak, fighting ignorance and poverty through education, and preaching the gospel through word and deed:

What Others Say About CRF

"My own personal visits to the Kitale Children's Home in Kenya confirm in my mind that money sent is being used in very good fashion. The Home provides a positive Christian atmosphere for the 40+ orphans living there, as well as a witness to the neighborhood and municipal officials, and gives a central location for numerous church functions. To me CRF exemplifies James 1:27, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

-Shawn Tyler, Missionary, Mbala, Uganda

"I taught philosophy at a university for 32 years and often wondered about the impact I was having on people and the value of what I had done with so much of my life. With regard to you and the other members of the CRF, however, there is no question about the impact you are having and the value of what you are doing. To touch the lives of these children in the way you do is very awe inspiring. Thank you CRF."

-David and Nancy Annis, CRF sponsors

Our Commitment to You
The Christian Relief Fund has been operating with an untarnished record since 1971 because of the following commitments and values:

  1. The Christian Relief Fund staff, programs, and ethics are Christian. The goal of each program is to glorify Christ, demonstrating His love by operating with integrity as we meet tangible needs and teach His written Word.
  2. To be financially accountable for your precious sacrifices and keep administrative costs as low as possible. Only $3 out of $25 given for child sponsorship are used for administrative expense. 88% goes to the child. Volunteers and staff periodically travel to various sites to ensure that programs are being administered properly and in the best interests of the children. The Christian Relief Fund is a member of ECFA, an organization which requires strict financial accountability of its members. Financial statements are always available to you upon
    request.

  3. To partner with the local church.
Programs are administered through members of local churches, often volunteers, strengthening the church and fostering relationships in the local
community. We take great care to entrust the children in our programs to people of integrity, who have the children's welfare foremost in their heart. Because local projects are fairly small, workers know each child personally.

  4. To help each child individually, one child with one sponsor. Your sponsorship money provides food, clothing, medical help, Bible teaching and education for your child, NOT a community project. Each child has only one sponsor unless a group agrees to sponsor a child. The sponsor/ child relationship reinforces the message of the Gospel and the love of the Father producing a positive and lasting change in the life of the sponsored child. Many children have received an education and are now self-supporting as a result of sponsorship.
  5. To make every effort to be up front and straightforward with our donors. Mistakes are sometimes made on I.D. sheets, etc. by personnel in the field or in the Amarillo office. We do ask for grace and understanding for human shortcomings while always striving to do our best to correct such situations, to be honest with our donors, and to give the best care possible for each sponsored child.
  6. The Christian Relief Fund will never give or sell our mailing list to others nor interrupt your privacy with fundraising phone calls. We value our relationship with you. Thank you so much for your concern for hurting children. We hold your trust in the highest esteem and promise to do everything humanly possible to earn it. God bless you richly.
