The simplicity and honesty of children is something Christ
told us to model in our lives. They are ever hopeful and
expectant, and they long to believe and trust. Yet tragedy
touches so many of them in this imperfect world.
This year was a tremendous challenge. "Tsunami" became
a household word and the name "Katrina" a grim reminder
of an enormous tragedy. Many children and their families were
devastated by these disasters, as well as by day-to-day, grinding
poverty.
Your prayers and support can give a child back his childhood
in a world that is often perverse and uncaring. I thank God there
are people on earth who care deeply when others hurt. People
whose hearts are touched when they see others suffering.
Thank you for your help throughout the year. Today there are
more than 3500 children in the CRF sponsorship program and countless
others who are touched by your kindness in many ways.
From the depths of my heart I thank you,
Linda Purdy,Executive Director
4. To help each child individually, one
child with one sponsor. Your sponsorship money provides
food, clothing, medical help, Bible teaching and education
for your specific child, rather than a community project.
Each child has only one sponsor unless a group agrees
to sponsor a child. The sponsor/child relationship reinforces
the message of the Gospel and the love of the Father
producing a positive and lasting change in the life of
the sponsored child. Many children have received an education
and are now self-supporting as a result of sponsorship.
5. To make every effort to be up front
and straightforward with our donors. Mistakes are sometimes
made on I.D. sheets, etc. by personnel in the field or
in the Amarillo office. We do ask for grace and understanding
for human shortcomings. We do our best to correct such
situations, to be honest with our donors, and to give
the best care possible for each sponsored child.
6. The Christian Relief Fund will never give or sell our mailing
list to others nor interrupt your privacy with fundraising
phone calls. We value our relation-
ship with you. Thank you so much for your concern for hurting
children. We hold your trust in the highest esteem and promise
to do everything humanly
possible to earn it. God bless you richly.
