SUDAN

Sudan has experienced great hardship because of years of war and persecution of Christians. Sudan has the largest population of internally displaced persons of any country in the world. The children in the CRF program are from the Dinka tribe, a very poor people who come from central Sudan. They have fled war zones where they faced only destruction and death and they are now living in a refuge camp. These children need help even if it may only be temporary. There has been a recent peace signing and there is the possibility they could return to their home area in the future. This process can be slow since they will want to know that it is safe before returning.

These children live in temporary housing called a tukul (hut). Their diet consists of sorghum. Their parents' occupations are listed as peasants and housewives. Click HERE to sponsor a child.
