Laura comes from a large family of 22 children. Polygamy is very common on Mt. Elgon where she lives. Her father has three wives and no job to provide for them. There is no income to help Laura fulfill her dreams of attending high school. Despite the challenges in her life, Laura does well in school and would thrive if given a chance.
