Ian comes from a broken family background. His parents separated, and his father remarried and moved to another area. He does not support Ian at all. Ian lives under the care of his mother, who has no job and relies on herding a few goats for their only income. She is not able to provide Ian's basic needs. His biggest challenges are in affording daily food, decent clothing, and school fees.
