Marlin's father died in a road accident a few years ago. Since then the family has struggled in true poverty. Marlin's mother has no education. She works multiple jobs to try and provide for the three children under her care, but they rarely are able to make ends meet. The family lives on less than $1 per day. Decent clothing and school fees are some of Marlin's biggest needs.
