Godwin's father has died and his mother abandoned the children. For as long as he could, Godwin lived with his grandmother, but she has many people under her care, even though she has no job or source of income. The family has struggled to meet day-to-day basic needs, often going without food or basic medical care. Eventually Godwin was taken to stay at the Tarakwa Children's Village. Monthly support will help to meet Godwin's basic needs.
